Encinitas Citywide Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP)

The plan identified and prioritized safety improvements that would bring the most benefit to the Encinitas community.

Our engineers completed a citywide Local Roadway Safety Plan for the City of Encinitas to identify high-collision locations and countermeasures and prioritize safety improvement projects in alignment with federal funding eligibility. The scope of work involved data collection, safety data analysis, safety measure identification, and the development of projects and cost estimates.

The LRSP will lead to a reduction in collisions, and in particular, fatal and serious injury collisions through a multi-agency approach that utilizes education, enforcement, engineering and emergency service strategies. The project was completed with key stakeholders from city agencies, the Sheriff’s Department, and school districts who provided input on the project mission and goals, key safety issues and non-engineering strategies and countermeasures.
