City of Huntington Beach Local Road Safety Plan (LRSP)

Enhancing safety for all road users, including pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists.

We completed a Local Roadway Safety Plan for the City of Huntington Beach, as well as a full collision history assessment and hot-spot analysis. The final plan provided countermeasures to address specific collision types, including active transportation improvements on the City’s arterial network.

Our team also developed a “Top 10” list of recommendations, including an implementation and strategic funding plan consolidated into the LRSP document. Since plan completion, we prepared a winning Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) grant application on one of the plan’s priority projects, which included the installation of bicycle, crosswalk and signal improvements along Heil Avenue and Edinger Avenue.
